The Dallas Cowboys star will undergo an MRI scan on Friday

The Dallas Cowboys picked up a big win over division rival New York Giants on Thursday Night Football, ending a two-game losing streak, but at what cost?

During the game, starting defenders Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence suffered injuries, with Parson being carted to the locker room.

Parsons announced after the game that x-rays of his foot and ankle were negative, but he still needs to undergo further testing.

Parsons has to undergo an MRI on Friday.

While the Cowboys organization holds its breath, hoping the All-Pro avoids a serious injury that would sideline him for an extended period of time, Parsons seems optimistic.

“Right now I've just put it on hold,” Parsons said in the locker room after the game, according to Todd Archer of ESPN.com. “I know very little. I have an MRI (Friday) and will try to come back next week.”

Because the injury occurred during a game on Thursday night, Parsons will have three additional days of rest and recovery time before Week 5.

If the diagnosis proves promising, Parsons could face the Pittsburgh Steelers when the two teams face off on Sunday Night Football on October 6 at Acrisure Stadium.
