Here's what voters in Tomball, Magnolia need to know before Election Day

Here's everything voters in Tomball and Magnolia need to know before they go to the polls on Election Day, November 5th.

When to vote?

On Election Day, polls in Harris and Montgomery counties will be open Nov. 5 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Where can you vote?

Voters must vote in the county in which they are registered. Voters in Harris County can vote at any polling place on Election Day, while voters in Montgomery County must vote in their assigned precinct. A list of voting districts and polling stations can be found here. You can find a map here.

A complete list of Election Day vote centers in Harris County can be found here. According to the Harris County Clerk's Office, these locations are not final and additional locations will be added as they are confirmed. Voters should check the Harris County Clerk's Office website on Election Day for the most up-to-date information.

What to bring with you

According to the Texas Secretary of State, voters should bring one of the following seven approved forms of ID to vote:

  • Texas driver's license
  • Texas voter ID card
  • Texas ID card
  • Texas handgun license
  • US citizenship certificate with photo
  • US military ID card
  • US passport

If a voter does not have one of the approved forms of identification and cannot reasonably obtain one, the voter may complete a Declaration of Reasonable Disability and provide a copy or original of one of the following approved forms of identification:

  • Notarized domestic birth certificate or court-admissible birth certificate
  • Current electricity bill
  • Bank statement
  • Government check
  • Paycheck
  • Government document containing the voter's name and address and voter registration certificate

What's on the ballot?

In addition to presidential, federal and state elections, voters in Tomball and Magnolia can also see local elections held by counties, school districts and cities on their ballots.

At the elections

According to the Texas Secretary of State, the following are not allowed within 100 feet of polling places:

  • Posting, using, or distributing political signs or literature relating to a candidate, political party, or action
  • Using a cell phone, camera, tablet computer, laptop computer, audio recorder, or other device that can communicate wirelessly or be used to record sound or images
  • Bringing a firearm onto the premises of a polling place (this prohibition does not apply to peace officers, whether on duty or not)
  • Wearing clothing or a similar means of communication associated with a candidate, measure or political party, whether or not it appears on the ballot
