MENIFEE – Honoring the contributions and sacrifices of our military community continues to be a proud tradition in Menifee. This year, the City of Menifee will host its annual Veterans Day celebration at Hidden Hills Park (31727 Eaton Lane, near the corner of Evans Road and Quilt Way) on Monday, November 11th from 10 a.m. to noon. This family-friendly event includes special presentations, veteran honors, speeches and an aerial flyover to conclude the ceremony.

The keynote speaker for this year's event is Master Gunnery Sergeant Arthur “Artie” Allen III, a 31-year retired United States Marine Corps veteran and current chairman of the Riverside County Veterans Advisory Committee. Veterans and families can also explore local resources and meet service providers. A continental breakfast is offered. The event is hosted in collaboration with VFW Post 1956 and the Mt. San Jacinto College Veterans Club.

“Menifee is committed to ensuring that our military veterans are both valued and supported,” said Mayor Pro Tem Dean Deines. “That’s why we’ve also created a new Veterans and Military Families Advisory Committee that will focus on the needs of our veteran community.”

Officially established by the Menifee City Council in August, the Veterans and Military Families Advisory Committee (VMFAC) will promote public service and community engagement. audit proposals for programs, projects and facilities; Encourage participation in community event programs or volunteer projects; They serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council and implement veterans policies related to city projects, events, and programs for veterans and military families.

VMFAC will consist of five members appointed by the Menifee City Council and serve two-year terms with no term limits. To be considered, prospective members must be registered voters in the City of Menifee. Active military members must be registered to vote, but are not required to be registered in Menifee. VMFAC meeting dates and times will be determined by the Committee at its first meeting in 2025.
