“Rams rising star scores with game-winning catch”

The Los Angeles Rams (4-4) just pulled off one of the most memorable wins of the NFL season. A comeback win in overtime on the road against NFC West rival Seattle Seahawks (4-5) was capped with a game-winning, one-handed touchdown catch by wide receiver Demarcus Robinson.

Robinson spoke to the media after the game about his acrobatic, one-handed grab that secured the Rams' third straight win and second in the division.

“I was just trying to stop the guy because he was kind of catching up,” Robinson said after the game. “Woolen (Seahawks CB Riq Woolen) is pretty quick, so he caught up because the ball needs a little distance to get to me, so he caught up. So I thought, 'Okay, let me.' Just stick my arm out,' he started grabbing my arm so I only had one arm to try and make a play.”

“I just got my release,” Robinson said. “Usually on that play call I release inside so he thinks it's a flat cross and then he plays as if he thinks it's a run. So, I guess Matthew (QB Matthew Stafford) had a great fake with the running back and I was able to overtake him. I beat him by about five yards and Matthew saw me coming out of his rollout and he gave me a chance, he took advantage of it.”

The Rams would never have been able to do that Robinson to make the game had it not been for a game-saving stop on fourth down on the Seahawks' first drive of overtime. On fourth-and-1, the Seahawks went for it and got stuffed, turning the ball over and leading to the Rams' winning drive.

“It’s on us, man, the defense did a great job stopping us and giving us the ball back,” Robinson said. “It’s our turn to put points on the board. Either we score, get three points and end the game and leave it to the kicker. So we tried to just score a touchdown so it could be over.”

This Rams team, which has now won three straight and is tied for second place in the NFC West with the San Francisco 49ers, is in for quite the hot streak. Robinson started the season 1-4 and is now back to .500 and has a real chance to win the division. Robinson feels good.

“It feels great, man, you know what we’re capable of,” Robinson said. “We go out there every day and train hard, just like any other team. “The start of our season didn't seem to be going so well, but now we're starting to put weeks and weeks and weeks together and things are looking pretty good for us, right now.”
