Nick Sirianni: Saquon Barkley's reverse hurdle is the best game I've ever seen

Eagles running back Saquon Barkley scored two touchdowns in Sunday's 28-23 win over the Jaguars, but neither marked his biggest highlight of the afternoon.

This happened on a third-down reception in the second quarter. Barkley intercepted Jalen Hurts' pass and spun past a Jaguars defender before turning his back on cornerback Jarrian Jones. Barkley left his feet and crossed Jones while moving backwards to gain more yardage.

After the game, head coach Nick Sirianni called it “the best game I’ve ever seen.”

“What I think is so cool about Saquon's play is that there will be kids all over the country and all over Philadelphia – I'm really thinking about it – trying to put this play together, talking about this play and it to simulate while they play backyard soccer or pee wee football,” Sirianni said via a team transcript. “They won't be able to do it because I think he's the only one in the world who can do it. I'm speechless. It was incredible and the way the crowd – when I looked up, like I thought I saw what I saw. As a coach, sometimes you look at the line, at the sideline, at the defense. And so I thought I saw it, but when I looked at the big screen and the crowd reacted to it, it was incredible. I can’t emphasize enough how athletic he is.”

Barkley had 199 yards from point of attack in the win, and he accomplished exactly what the Eagles had hoped for from him since he joined the team. On a game Sunday, he was even more than they imagined.
