Jason McCourty puts Giants fans to shame after unreal play from Saquon Barkley

Giants fans caught strays from CBS NFL analyst Jason McCourty.

McCourty made the difference in Sunday's game between the Eagles and Jaguars when Saquon Barkley made a spectacular leap over a Jags defender while running the ball.

It was one of several impressive plays Barkley made in the Eagles' 28-23 victory at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday afternoon.

Barkley, of course, had previously played for the Giants, who had a poor season this year after a 7-2 loss to the Commanders on Sunday, and left the team via free agency in the spring.

It's safe to say that seeing Barkley excel on the team's main rival was hard for Giants fans to swallow, and McCourty couldn't help but rub salt in the wound during Sunday's CBS broadcast.

“Poor Giants fans just watching at home Saquon Barkley just do what he does,” McCourty said as a replay of Barkley's reverse hurdle was shown.

Barkley finished the afternoon game with 159 yards on 27 carries and added another 40 yards receiving and scoring a total of two touchdowns.

According to ESPN's Tim McManus after the game, Barkley became the third player in Eagles history to have more than 1,000 scrimmage yards and more than eight touchdowns in eight games. He joins LeSean McCoy and Brian Westbrook.

“I just played ball. I just let go and let my body react,” Barkley told CBS Sports about the hurdle. “The piece was cool and everything. There are a lot of things I need to clean up in the second half. In situational football, pay attention to the ball, but that's the beauty of football. You have to have each other's backs. And the defense stood behind me today and, most importantly, got the win.”

The Giants' parting with Barkley was featured on the HBO series “Hard Knocks: Offseason with the New York Giants,” and Big Blue fans have seen week after week the player they are now missing.

And the announcers don't seem to be afraid to remind them of it either.
