The bye week can't come soon enough for the Badgers as Iowa scores another rushing touchdown with 1:15 to play, this time from Jazun Patterson. The Hawkeyes finished with 329 rushing yards tonight, scoring more than 40 points at home for the third straight year. The Badgers' run defense has absolutely no answer to the Hawkeyes' rushing attack in a miserable 42-10 loss to Iowa.

The Badgers force a 3rd-and-6 from the Iowa 27, but any chance of getting back into the game disappears when Sullivan and Ortwerth connect for a 52-yard reception and an Iowa first down at the UW 21. Two plays later, Sullivan runs the ball up the middle for the 1. It takes a few plays, but Johnson scores his third touchdown of the night and as Iowa's offensive line continues its dominance, they go up 35-10.

The Badgers finally get a big play on a 3rd-and-10 when Locke hits Vinny Anthony on the run for 33 yards. A second nice throw to Anthony for 15 yards brings the Badgers to the 20-yard line. The quarter ends after two runs by Walker gained seven yards and set up a 3rd-and-3 from the 13th minute. After Walker was tackled for a loss, the Badgers went on fourth down and Locke found Williams for a 14-yard TD on fourth down. UW Trails, 28-10 with 14:12 remaining in the game.

Two plays later, Sullivan finds Jacob Gill in the end zone for a 7-yard score and the Hawkeyes lead, 28-3. Locke is 9 of 20 for 72 yards and two interceptions with 4:17 to play in the third quarter

Iowa has nine plays that gained more than 10 yards on the ground. (The Badgers have two). On the tenth consecutive rush, Johnson scores from nine yards out and the Hawkeyes have a commanding lead of 21-3. Johnson has 131 yards and two touchdowns and the Hawkeyes have 238 rushing yards as a team.

Having the ball early in the second half is another opportunity for the Badgers to get closer, but after just one first down and 18 yards on the ground, the Badgers have to punt again. Locke is 8 of 18 passing for just 68 yards despite not throwing in this series.

Kaleb Johnson has 92 yards rushing and the Hawkeyes have 152 yards rushing as a team. The Badgers only have 114 yards of total offense

With about a minute left in the half, UW manages its first third down conversion on a 4-yard run by Locke to the Iowa 43. However, an incompletion, a chop block and a false start created a 2nd-and-30 at the Wisconsin 37 . Another negative play sets up 3rd and 33 with 28 seconds to go. The Badgers finally throw the ball at the 10 and go to the locker room trailing by 11.

Nyzier Fourqurean's tackle on Zach Ortwerth prevents a first down and gives the Badgers a much-needed stop. Unfortunately, a 57-yard punt gives the Badgers starting position at the 6-yard line. A 13-yard completion to Darrion Dupree moves the Badgers away from the goal line, but another incomplete pass on another third down and long yardage forces another punt. However, Iowa only managed three yards on three plays, including two incompletions, and the Badgers had a chance to score points before the end of the half as they were out of their game after another punt of more than 50 yards with 2:45 remaining Start your own 30 yards.

It's another three-pointer for the Badgers after Locke's third throw to Williams goes out of the receiver's hands and is incomplete. The Badgers have yet to convert on a third down (0-3) with 7:15 left in the half.

A personal foul penalty on Aaron Witt and a 30-yard run by Kamari Moulton help set up Iowa's 80-yard touchdown drive, capped by a 16-yard run by Johnson. The game suddenly falls to Wisconsin as the Hawkeyes extend their lead to 14-3.

The Badgers gained just one yard in three plays starting in the 26th minute. Atticus Bertrams' 42-yard punt goes up after an illegal block on the return by the Hawkeyes.

On 1st-and-10 from the UW 32, Johnson carries the ball 10 yards and another first down. They call his number again and Johnson reaches 16 yards on his next touch and takes the ball to the 5. On 3rd-and-goal, Sullivan keeps it and is pushed into the end zone for a touchdown. The Hawkeyes take a 7-3 lead with 12:45 left in the half.

After a 7-yard completion to Pauling and a 5-yard run by Walker, Locke makes a costly mistake as his throw is intercepted by Deshaun Lee in open space and returned to the Iowa 47. After a 5-yard run from Sullivan the pass to Jacob Gill gains 16 yards and the Hawkeyes are in business at the end of the quarter.

Iowa gets the ball at the 25 and takes the ball to the UW 38. The Badgers had two lost tackles and a false start by Iowa to force a 56-yard field goal that hit the upright but was missed by Drew Stevens .

Brayden Locke's 10-yard throw to Will Pauling gets the Badgers off to a promising start, but after a seven-yard rush from Tawee Walker, the Badgers are faced with a false start. On 3rd-and-8, Iowa retaliates with consecutive delay-of-game penalties to give the Badgers a first down, but Locke is then sacked for a loss of five yards at the 43-yard line. But one play later, an unsportsmanlike penalty gave the Badgers another first down at the Iowa 43. Two plays later, Locke hit CJ Williams for a lead of 18 and a first down at the 25. But another false start and an incomplete throw to the end The zone sets up 2nd-and-15 from the Iowa 30. A quick throw outside to Vinny Anthony gets nine yards. On 3rd-and-6, Locke's pass to the opposing side went wide and Nathanial Vakos kicked a 38-yard field goal, giving the Badgers a 3-0 lead with 6:15 left in the first quarter.

There is a “blackout” in Iowa City as most fans are dressed in the Hawkeyes' dominant color as the two Big Ten rivals play the sixth league game of the season. Quarterback Brendan Sullivan comes out throwing and completes a nine-yard pass after Iowa receives the kick, but after two runs by Kaleb Johnson total nine yards, an incomplete pass on 3rd-and-1 forces a punt and the Badgers take control on your own 20.

Wisconsin vs. Iowa football predictions

Mark Stewart: This has the makings of a great comeback game for Wisconsin. The Badgers didn't play badly last week, but it wasn't good enough to win. However, the experience of facing a top-three opponent prepares UW well for the rigors of winning on the road. Wisconsin 24, Iowa 20

JR Radcliffe: This appears to be an extremely important game for quarterback Braedyn Locke, who has struggled to go through a game without committing at least one turnover this year. Is he the quarterback of the future for this program? If so, this would be an opportunity to show it and lead Wisconsin in a difficult but winnable road game against a team that has its own starting quarterback. The defense has already slowed down a strong opponent (Rutgers), but Iowa is the best in the Big Ten in that regard, led by Kaleb Johnson. It's another close call, but I think Iowa just has that little something extra. Iowa 28, Wisconsin 23.
