Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have rallied behind Jason Kelce after he threw a fan's phone on the floor for insulting his brother's relationship with the singer.

The fan used a homophobic slur as he recorded himself shouting: 'Hey Kelce! How does it feel that your brother isn't dating Taylor Swift?'. The older Kelce brother attended a college football game at Penn State University on Saturday and appeared on ESPN's “College GameDay.”

Kelce, who turns 37 on Tuesday, picked up the phone from the fan, slammed it on the floor and said, “Who the hell is that now?” Then he picked up the phone again and walked away with it in his other hand an open beer. Footage of the incident immediately went viral on social media.

A source close to the couple told DailyMail.com: “Taylor and Travis were both really shocked about this considering Jason is one of the nicest guys in the world.”

“It was really clear how much he loves and respects Taylor. Travis means the world to him.

Kelce then walked away with the guy's phone and asked him, “Who the fuck now?”

“Using the word f****t is not okay for him or anyone.” This fan has crossed the line. “Jason will never tolerate anyone insulting his family and he now considers Taylor family.”

Jason Kelce has yet to comment on how he used the word “f****t” in retaliation towards the fan.

However, the athlete received support on social media. Quinton Lucas, the mayor of Kansas City, wrote on

Jason's next public appearance is scheduled for Monday evening when he travels to Kansas City to call Travis for ESPN in the Chiefs' NFL action against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

According to PageSix, campus police said no report was filed by anyone about the incident.

The two brothers are very close, and their bond – as well as Kelce's romance with Swift – was a key factor in them recently securing a $100 million deal to produce their New Heights podcast.

Jason retired from football earlier this year after spending 13 years in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he won the Super Bowl title.

Travis was at the press conference where Jason made the announcement and both brothers cried as the Eagles hero ended his career.

Swift's relationship with the Chiefs star has sparked an explosion of interest in the Kelce family around the world, but they have embraced their newfound fame and Swift herself in public everywhere.

Since her relationship with Travis became public in September 2023, Jason has also attended a number of Swift's Eras Tour shows – both with Travis and with his own young family.

“She's great, a down-to-earth and genuine person. “It’s great to see someone of this caliber and star stay as down to earth as she does,” Jason said back in February.

Speaking in September, Jason admitted that he was cautious every time he was asked about his brother's relationship with Swift, as interest in both was high.

“Even now, I want to be respectful to them,” he said on the Pivot Podcast. “I don’t want anyone to feel like I’m violating any private relationship, do I?”

“But he's my brother and I'm really happy for him. “You just have to be conscious of how you say things because he's so under the microscope.”
