Northwestern Wildcats vs Purdue Boilermakers Prediction, Odds and Tips

Northwestern Wildcats vs Purdue Boilermakers Prediction, Odds and Tips

The Purdue Boilermakers are the last team in the Big Ten without a conference win. They will look to claim first place in the conference this Saturday when they take on the Northwestern Wildcats. After winning the opening game of the season, Purdue has lost six straight games. The only game that ended close was a 50-49 overtime loss to Illinois. One reason for the series of defeats was the loss of starting quarterback Hudson Card due to injury. The card is ready to use for this card. Northwestern lost its last game to Iowa 40-14. Sophomore quarterback Jack Lausch against the Hawkeyes' elite defense. Lausch only managed 62 yards and 2 interceptions in the loss. Northwestern has now lost two straight conference games by 20 or more points.

Both Northwestern and Purdue will likely watch bowl games from the sidelines this holiday season. Neither team has much to do to win standings or bowl games. One could argue more for the Cats, but after their collapse since beating Maryland, they would need to finish the season with a win in three of their last four games. Purdue's main reason for attending this home game is head coach Ryan Walters' job security. A winless season in the Big Ten could confirm the rumors of Walters being fired. This could be Purdue's last chance to get a conference win, with Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan State and Indiana up next. With Card back under center, I want the Boilermakers to come out inspired and get a win for their coach.
