At the Nets' shootaround before Friday night's game against the Bulls, Nic Claxton said he believes the team can continue to “surprise” its opponents.

What wasn't surprising, however, was that the Nets blew a lead of up to 17 points at Barclays Center.

However, they were saved by Cam Thomas, who was the Nets' only hot starter and scored 32 points, including 10 crucial ones in the final quarter, helping the team to its third win in a 120-112 victory over the Bulls.

There were a lot of lead changes in the final quarter – there were as many as 10 in the game – but things got rolling after Thomas' two foul throws that gave the Nets a 110-107 lead with 3:47 left.

The Nets' star shooting guard then scored with a layup and two three-pointers to provide momentum inside their home building.

Cam Johnson, who finished the night with 14 points, later sprinted to the other end of the court for a big dunk after a defensive board, giving the Nets a comfortable 120-109 cushion.

Trailing by just two early in the fourth quarter, the Bulls took the lead for the first time since the first on a Coby White three-pointer just 26 seconds into the fourth quarter.

However, Ziaire Williams, who had no points before the fourth period, scored three baskets in a row for the Nets to retake the lead at 100-98 with eight minutes left.
