Fortnite Remix: Chapter 2 Prelude and Start Times: When does downtime start?

Fortnite Remix will be a three-part experience that includes a live show, a new season and an “unforgettable finale” event, Epic Games has announced.

To kick off, Prelude: The Remix will once again see players temporarily step away from their battle royale duties to take part in a new activity or experience together. In the past, players were invited to a virtual concert starring the giant Travis Scott and teamed up to destroy an alien mothership.

This time, Epic Games announces a musical nostalgia fest that will serve as a precursor to the new season titled Chapter 2: Remix.

Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming updates, including the inevitable downtime that will make the game unplayable.

Fortnite live event start time: When does Remix: The Prelude start?

The Fortnite's Remix: The Prelude live event begins on Friday, November 1st at 10:30 p.m. in the UK (3:30 p.m. PDT/6:30 p.m. EDT).

Keyword: Younger players ask their parents to let them stay up past bedtime – or hide their phones under the covers.

The live event will take place in the “Battle Royale” and “Zero Build” playlists. In Restored Reels, players are protected from the storm and cannot harm others.

When does the downtime begin?

To ensure all eyes are on the main event, matchmaking for some modes is typically disabled shortly before a live show begins.

Epic, in turn, recommends players log into the game a few hours early to avoid having to wait in line and risk missing out on the action.

An event is typically followed by further downtime while Epic takes the entire game offline for several hours so that the new seasonal update can be implemented.

When does Fortnite Chapter 2: Remix start?

Fortnite Chapter 2: Remix should therefore begin early Saturday morning, November 2nd.

Based on start times from previous seasons, we expect it to start around 7am in the UK, although downtime for updates may vary.

The season will last until November 30th and then conclude with a Remix: The Finale final event.

Even though the title includes Chapter 2, the new season may not only focus on that era. As usual, there may be changes to the map, bringing back old locations like Craggy Cliffs, Dirty Docks, and Frenzy Farm.

For its part, Epic has released a series of clips announcing the return of previous characters, including 8-Ball, TNTina, Midas Meowscles, the female Guff and a new female Chaos Agent, who will likely be included in the Chapter 2 Battle Pass.

Elsewhere, the Fortnite Festival could see Snoop Dogg headlining Season 6. Epic, who could also make an appearance during Prelude (or maybe it's Marshmello, who hosted Fortnite's first live event in 2019).

Epic also announced that Reload Solos will be released simultaneously with Fortnite Remix on November 2nd. This will finally allow players to go solo in the more compact competitive mode by starting with an additional respawn and collecting more with each elimination (with a maximum of three respawns).
