Mariah Carey officially declares “It’s time” for Christmas in her annual video

Mariah Carey is officially starting the countdown to Christmas!

Just after midnight on Friday, November 1, the 55-year-old singer — known as the queen of the festive holiday — shared her annual “It's Time” video on Instagram after Halloween, and this year she channeled Morticia Addams from The Addams Family.

Carey wore a sparkly black dress, a diamond necklace from Kay Jewelers, dark makeup and a black wig. She danced with a man dressed as Gomez Addams before pushing him away and shooting him with a knife (although she narrowly missed and hit the painting). (behind him instead) and smiled at the camera as a red holiday dress appeared and the countdown of appointments began.

Carey's record-breaking holiday hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You” from her bestselling 1994 album Merry Christmas began playing after she announced, “It’s time!” while sitting on a sleigh in a red, fur-lined dress, surrounded by presents.

The musician's male co-star then transformed into a dancing animated snowman and the words “It's Time!” rang out. flashed again on the screen over a castle as Carey winked and blew a kiss at the camera.

“IT’S TIME!!!! ⏱️🎉🎄,” Carey captioned the promo clip.

In last year's video, the date and time changed from October 31 at 11:59 p.m. to November 1 at 12 a.m. when a vault door swung open to reveal Carey wearing a block of ice in Mrs. Claus-style overalls.

Halloween characters – including a pumpkin head and a person in one Scream Mask – knocked off, in front of her “It's time!” High voice broke the ice.

The “Without You” singer has already hinted at the holiday countdown in a few clips this year, appearing in a video with Kerry Washington ahead of Election Day earlier this week.

As Carey was about to begin “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” she was interrupted by the scandal Actress who told her, “It’s not your season yet, Mariah. It’s election season.”

Carey then confirmed that she had registered to vote, and Washington said, “That's amazing because it's my season before it's her season.”

“It’s time to vote! 🗳️❤️ #ItsVotingSeason #ItsAlmostTime,” Carey captioned the post.

In October, the hitmaker appeared in another Instagram clip on a private jet as a voice from the captain said they were “heading to the North Pole.”

She then replied: “Not yet… sorry!” before adding to the camera: “You're always rushing me.”

Since releasing her first Christmas album 30 years ago, Carey has created an entire brand under the Christmas umbrella. Among other projects, she has since released the album in 2010 Merry Christmas II Youtwo children's books, along with their annual Christmas concert.

This year, Carey is also teaming up with Virgin Hotels to open “All I Want for Christmas” themed bars across the country in time for the 30th anniversary of her iconic song.
