The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has recalled 60,000 HALO containers sold exclusively at Wawa locations.

The reusable cup with a metal straw may cut the consumer's mouth and/or fingers and pose a risk of injury.

The product was shipped to retailers in nine states, including New Jersey, in August. Other states include Alabama, Washington DC, Delaware, Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Maryland.

The recall comes after four reports of cuts to the hand and mouth.

The 24-ounce plastic cups are available in four styles with tan lids: The Mermaid in pink/green, Island Surf in blue/yellow, Sailor Breeze in brown/orange and The Galaxy. is blue/pink.

Shoppers who purchased a drinking cup should immediately stop using the recalled metal straw and return the metal straw to receive a free replacement silicone straw. If customers wish to return both items, they can receive a refund in the form of a $15 gift card. To receive the refund, the original cup and metal straw must be returned to HALO, the release states.

No proof of purchase (receipt) is required to receive a replacement or refund. HALO will provide a prepaid label for shipping the recalled units. The customer should not return the recalled cups to Wawa stores.
