MADISON – Vice President Kamala Harris is traveling to Madison on Wednesday to make her closing argument before Wisconsin's liberal stronghold – and she'll have some star power with her.

The event, billed as their “When We Vote We Win” rally and concert, will feature performances by musicians Gracie Abrams, Mumford & Sons, Remi Wolf and The National's Matt Berninger and Aaron Dessner. The event will take place at the Alliant Energy Center, not far from the UW-Madison campus.

The rally comes as Harris and former Republican President Donald Trump make a final push in Wisconsin and other swing states before Election Day on Tuesday. The two candidates are in a dead heat, according to a Marquette University Law School poll released Wednesday.

Trump is also traveling to Wisconsin on Wednesday, where he is scheduled to appear with legendary Packers quarterback Brett Favre. It will be Trump's second stop in Green Bay this year.

Democrats have steadily increased their vote share and overall turnout in Dane County, Wisconsin's fastest-growing county.

But Republicans are trying to reverse that trend. Tulsi Gabbard and RFK Jr. hosted an event in Madison on Tuesday night where they urged attendees to vote for Trump and convince family and friends to do the same.

Jacob Fischer, a spokesman for the Trump campaign, said: “I don't think Wisconsinites will buy Kamala's desperate attempt to rewrite her disastrous record.”

Harris and Trump, as well as their fellow campaigners and surrogates, have become regular visitors to Wisconsin and other battleground states in recent months.

On Monday, U.S. Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, Trump's vice presidential running mate, visited Racine and Wausau, while Tim Walz, Harris' running mate, made stops in Manitowoc and Waukesha to woo Republicans considering voting for Harris.

Harris' Wednesday rally in Madison comes just a day after her major rally in Washington, DC. The White House stood behind her, urging voters to “flip” Trump, who previously spoke at the Ellipse Temple on Jan. 6. the insurrection at the US Capitol.
