Lower humidity moves to Houston on Thursday

HOUSTON – We've been waiting for the cold front this week to bring us some relief from the late summer heat, and now it's here! Here you can follow the showers and storms with the current radar sweep:

The forecast for tonight:

Tonight the clouds will clear. The lowest temperatures will be between 15 and 21 degrees.

Forecast for Thursday:

Thursday will be mostly sunny and the humidity will drop! Even though it will still be warm in the afternoon with over 30 degrees, the low humidity will be very pleasant!

Forecast for Friday:

By Friday, the humidity will be long gone, meaning all Friday night football games should feel wonderful! Temperatures will drop to 70 degrees by 9 p.m. Friday.

Forecast for Saturday:

Saturday will be mostly sunny and warm. If you head to Huntsville, temperatures will be in the high 30s but comfortable with low humidity.

Texans prediction for Sunday:

The Texans will face the Jaguars at NRG Stadium on Sunday! We'll wake up to temperatures between 65 and 70 degrees on Sunday morning. For the Texans attending the tailgater game, it should feel like fall! By kickoff at noon, temperatures will rise to over 80 degrees with low humidity.

On the trail of the tropics:

Helene is now a Category 1 hurricane as it moves into the southern Gulf of Mexico. Helene is on track to rapidly intensify in the open waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

A Category 4 hurricane is currently expected to make landfall at Big Bend on Thursday evening. There is a chance the storm could strengthen further near landfall.

10-day forecast:

We're getting a nice little taste of fall with low humidity and morning temperatures around 15 degrees. The afternoons are still warm but it will feel dry. Next week the humidity will be back.
