Melania Trump was asked on Fox News on Tuesday why she finally joined her husband Donald Trump on the campaign trail in the final stretch of the 2024 campaign. In recent months she has been largely absent from the Republican candidate's side.

“You took the stage on Sunday. They surprised the former president. They surprised the entire audience. Why are we seeing more of you in the final stretch of the campaign now?” co-host Lawrence Jones asked the former first lady during a very friendly meeting on “Fox & Friends.”

The former first lady didn't provide much clarity in her response.

“It was an incredible place. I love New York City and I think people will hear from me on this day,” she said. “The arena, Madison Square Garden, the support we have, and I want to support my husband too. So I was there for him and everyone else.”

Later in the discussion, she was given the opportunity to comment on the discourse surrounding her husband's increasing fascist tendencies and his admiration for Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler.

“It's terrible. He is not Hitler,” she said, adding, “and all his supporters are behind him because they want the country to succeed.”

After being virtually invisible during most of her husband's campaign, Melania Trump recently made several media appearances to promote her new book, “Melania.”

She was with the Republican candidate at his hate-filled rally at Madison Square Garden in New York on Sunday. She also accompanied him to a charity dinner earlier this month, where he was once roasted around the time he bragged about his ability to grab women by their genitals.

She had not previously attended major events with him since the Republican National Convention in July.
