49ers' Nick Bosa responds to his support for Donald Trump during a live TV interview

San Francisco 49ers star pass rusher Nick Bosa made headlines on Sunday night. After the 49ers defeated the Dallas Cowboys 30-24, NBC interviewed some of his teammates about their performances in the competition.

Quarterback Brock Purdy, tight end George Kittle and running back Isaac Guerendo were in the picture when Bosa appeared in the background. He then showed off his hat that read “Make America Great Again.”

His teammates seemed a little shocked by the decision but continued with the interview.

After the game, Bosa was asked about the statement he wanted to make by wearing the cap. He didn't go into it too much, but did comment on the matter.

“I won’t talk about it too much,” Bosa said, “but I think it’s an important time.”

Bosa has long been a supporter of former President Donald Trump, but has toned things down somewhat, particularly on social media. When he was drafted by the 49ers, Bosa knew he might need to clean up his rhetoric.

“I had to,” Bosa told ESPN in 2019. “There’s a chance I could end up in San Francisco.”

The 2024 presidential election is just over a week away and the 49ers don't have a game until it's over. Bosa showed his support for his candidate and sent a message after the big win.

The veteran pass rusher has been one of the better defenders in the NFL since being selected No. 2 overall by the 49ers in 2019. He helped San Francisco reach the Super Bowl twice while winning multiple individual awards.

That includes winning the Defensive Player of the Year award in 2022 and leading the league with 18.5 sacks. He struck fear into opposing teams every time he took the field and was instrumental in the 49ers defeating the Cowboys.

After a difficult start to the year, San Francisco now has a season record of 4-4. They struggled with several serious injuries throughout the season, which led to problems on the field.

Still, the 49ers are tied at the top of the NFC East Division. It's been a challenging year for San Francisco, but they're right in the middle of the playoff hunt.

The next game for San Francisco is November 10th when they travel to Tampa Bay to face the Buccaneers.
