New York postgame crew smashes Jets after crushing loss to Patriots

The New York Jets have every reason to be an elite team in the AFC. Sunday's loss to the New England Patriots showed why they aren't.

Steve Gelbs, Connor Rogers, Bart Scott and Willie Colon expressed this frustration during SNY's post-game coverage.

“The Jets season, which began with Super Bowl expectations, is over on October 27,” Gelbs opened. “…We’ve been doing this together for a long time. I'm not sure I've ever experienced a more inexcusable loss than tonight's Jets-New England game in a 25-22 loss to the Patriots. … There is no scenario in which the Jets, playing out their season against a terrible New England Patriots team, end up with four points off the board because of their kicking. This is a team they should have dominated.”

The former Jets players on the desk also chimed in. Scott was “disgusted” and saw nothing positive from New York when Colon urged the team to accept the well-deserved media criticism that comes with a 2-6 record on such a roster.

SNY NFL reporter Connor Hughes made his opinion on the Jets pretty clear after the game at Gillette Stadium.

“They suffered a loss to the lowly New England Patriots, who lost their starting quarterback in the second quarter (and) had absolutely no business sharing the field with the Jets, and they lost.” I don't know, how the Jets are doing now. I don't know what they're doing. … Instead of finding ways to win, the Jets are inventing new ways to lose every week.”

The Jets already had a talented roster and have improved it over the last two weeks with pass rushers Hasson Reddick and Davante Adams joining New York. They failed to win in any of those weeks, losing to the Patriots and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Patriots travel to Tennessee to face the Titans in Week 9, while the Jets host the Houston Texans on Thursday night.
