Goldfish changes its name to Chilean sea bass

Goldfish is relaunching its popular cheese cracker with a new name. No more grabbing a handful of goldfish for your child while serving them their afternoon snack. Treat yourself to Chilean sea bass instead.

For a limited time, fans can win a bag with the updated name. But don't worry, they still have the flavor we all love – that part won't change.

The update is inspired by those who loved Goldfish as kids but may now be more drawn to adult snacks. “We know that the love of Goldfish spans all ages. Chilean Sea Bass is a playful nod to adults, showing that the iconic fish-shaped snack is also suitable for adult tastes,” said Danielle Brown, vice president of Goldfish.

If you want to snag a bag of Chilean sea bass, you'll need to act quickly as this limited-time offer will not be available in stores. Starting October 23, fans can purchase two bags of Chilean sea bass online while supplies last. There will be additional drops daily at 9:00 a.m. EST until October 30th.

If you miss it, you can always grab the traditional goldfish bags at the grocery store, put them in a nice container, and start calling them just Chilean sea bass – that's my plan, anyway.
