The Los Angeles Lakers welcome the big, bad Minnesota Timberwolves for the second time in a two-game opening night spectacle at Crypto.com Arena.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis are preparing for their sixth season together in La La Land. But what's the point of rolling out a James when it's twice as nice? The Lakers will also debut Bronny James Jr., providing the opportunity for the Lakers to embrace the unique moment of father and son sharing the NBA regular season court for the first time ever.

For the Timberwolves, it's all about building on the momentum from last year's appearance in the Western Conference finals, which followed several years of unsuccessful first-round appearances.

There will be new faces to fill a big void left by Karl Anthony-Towns, who will open the season with the Knicks after the Timberwolves acquired Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo and Keita Bates-Diop in a blockbuster trade, Although the latter could certainly find something, he himself was included in another squad shortly after his release on Monday.

Here's everything you need to know about Tuesday night's Timberwolves vs. Lakers game.

The Lakers and Timberwolves are a star-studded clash of titans. However, a rookie will steal much of the spotlight on Tuesday. LeBron's son Bronny will be on the roster for the season opener, but it remains to be seen whether he will take the court.

James Williams breaks down what we know about James so far and gives us his preseason stats.

James appeared in all six of the Lakers' preseason games and averaged 4.1 points and 1.6 rebounds in 16.2 minutes per game. In the Lakers' final preseason game, a 74-132 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Friday, James posted 17 points, four rebounds, three steals and a block in a career-high 35 minutes of work.

Bronny James may have a famous father, but he's still treated like a newbie. From his own father!

At least in Nike's script. The shoe and apparel company released a spot featuring LeBron and Bronny on the day of the Lakers' opening game – and LeBron was up to mischief.

LeBron and Bronny James will be the frontrunners. But the game will be Redick's coaching debut — and his first time coaching at the Lakers' Crypto.com Arena. (The team's preseason games were held elsewhere.)

How did he feel about two hours before takeoff?

“I just ordered a frying pan in the locker room,” Redick said, grinning. “I won't lie. I'm pretty excited right now just to get something to eat.

“But I think whatever I imagined in my previous life has disappeared. This is who I am now. I'm a coach so I don't feel like tonight is about me at all. “It’s about our team and it’s about our coaching staff and our group and what we’ve done so far in terms of our work and our preparation.”

LeBron James hinted that he is in no rush to share the court with his son Bronny.

“Whenever it happens, it will happen,” he said Tuesday after the shooting, according to ESPN. “Whether it's tonight or in the future, whenever it happens, it will happen. But it was a pleasure, and especially in the pre-season, the training, just every day… it just brings him up to speed on what this professional life is about and how to prepare every day as a professional.”

Bronny played in all six of the Lakers' preseason games.

When LeBron James and Bronny James step onto the court for the first time as members of the Los Angeles Lakers, it will be a moment like no other in NBA history. That's why former MLB stars Ken Griffey Jr. and Ken Sr., the first father-son duo to play in the same Major League Baseball game, will be there Tuesday night when the Lakers begin the 2024-25 regular season Minnesota Timberwolves open at home against the Lakers.

“The first father and son to play baseball, now the first father and son to play basketball. So it’s a big deal for my dad and I to be there,” Griffey Jr. said on MLB Network Radio earlier this week. “We made history, now we can see history.”

Bronny James described the Griffeys' presence as “crazy.” He added: “I mean, only two families can do this, so it's going to be a crazy experience, especially (with) what they've done.”
