The Browns self-destruct in a 20-16 loss to the Eagles, falling to 1-5 as their season begins to unravel

PHILADELPHIA – The Browns desperately needed a win heading into Sunday's game.

They had lost three straight to fall to 1-4, and their quarterback had been under fire all week, with local and national pundits calling for him to be benched. The Browns went back to basics, with coach Kevin Stefanski preaching all week that the players need to give the team a spark.

Still, the Browns had a chance to clinch a win by marching to the Eagles' 3 with just over four minutes left and blowing it with three penalties, kicking a field goal for the final margin rather than one to score a touchdown. The Eagles sealed the 20-16 victory with a 40-yard deep ball to AJ Brown via Greg Newsome II to the Browns 12 with 1:49 to play.

The Browns lost their fourth straight game to 1-5 and all but say goodbye to any playoff hopes.
