Kansas State player of the game wins at Colorado

Kansas State player of the game wins at Colorado

Kansas State Offensive MVP: DJ Giddens

To be honest, I'm starting to run out of descriptors DJ Giddens. Kansas State's running back has been so, so good this season. He contributed to a great season by rushing for 182 yards against Colorado. He also had a few ankle-breaking movements and had to wiggle back and forth a lot.

Giddens became the Buffaloes' first player to rush for 100 yards in a half this season. He also caught two passes for 38 yards, including a 34-yard reception for the game-winning score.

Avery Johnson I ended up having a very solid night. He made a few big throws on key downs and rushed for a massive touchdown on a fourth down attempt. Johnson also made the biggest play of the game with a 50-yard touchdown throw Jayce Brown.

Brown had one of the best games for a K-State receiver in recent memory. The second-year wideout finished the game with six catches for 121 yards and two touchdowns. Brown made some very good catches in crucial situations, including the game-winner.

Defensive MVP: Brendan Mott

Brendan Mott And honestly, Kansas State's entire defensive line has been one of the biggest bright spots for the Wildcat defense.

Mott provided pressure throughout the night, recording four tackles and 1.5 sacks to go. The super senior was extremely difficult to block all night and incurred several penalties. He also forced a false start late in the game because he was able to get rid of the ball so quickly.

Cody Stufflebean And Travis Bates Both were solid even in the win. The pair each had a sack and were part of a K-State defense that totaled six sacks.

K-State Special Teams MVP: Chris Tennant

Chris Tennant Not much was asked of him Saturday night, but his one field goal proved to be very important for Kansas State. Tennant was also perfect on all four of his extra points.

Dylan Edwards only had one punt return, but he completed it for 20 yards. Real newbie DeVon Rice also had a splash return for 36 yards on a kickoff.
