Details of the charges against the veneer specialist

On Thursday (October 3), police raided A List Smiles in Atlanta amid allegations that Brandon Dillard was allegedly providing illegal veneer services without a dental license.

WSB-TV reports that Fulton County district attorneys allege that Brandon Dillard has been providing veneer services continuously for many years.

“Brandon Dillard is not a dentist. He has never been a dentist. And as much as he would like to play one on Instagram, he isn’t one.” Fulton County Assistant District Attorney Will Wooten said.

According to WSB-TV, Brandon Dillard is charged with eight felonies, including practicing dentistry and medicine without a license and theft by deception.

Dillard, known for collaborating with public figures such as Tia Kemp, Lyrica Andersonand “Baddies West” star Rollie, has reportedly been in operation since 2021.

Fulton County Prosecutor Fani Willis described A List Smiles as legitimate but said the operation was anything but legal.

“If you were there and thought it was a dentist’s office and looked at the equipment, it seems legitimate. But that's exactly what the best scammers do: they do everything they can to appear legitimate. And in this case it is an illegitimate operation. The problem is the health consequences,” said Fulton County District Attorney Willis.

Authorities also accuse Dillard of allegedly conducting veneer training courses nationwide, charging participants more than $6,000 to become “veneer specialists.”

However, the Attorney General's Office emphasizes that Georgia does not recognize the Veneer Specialist or Veneer Technician certification.

DA Willis expressed her intent to prosecute individuals who paid for training related to this illegal activity.

“Many, many people paid this defendant to receive training on this illegal behavior. I have no interest in prosecuting these people. I'm interested in them stopping this work and finding out who they are, because they too are victims,” Willis said.

However, according to WSB-TV, DA Willis pointed out that Dillard's trainees who continue to practice without a license will also face charges.
