Sources reveal whether Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have broken up after a two-game absence

Sources reveal whether Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have broken up after a two-game absence

Taylor Swift attended Travis Kelce's first two games of the season and then missed his final two games against the Atlanta Falcons and Los Angeles Chargers, both of which were road games.

Some people wondered if the couple's relationship status had changed given Swift's two-week absence. But there has been no breakup, multiple sources familiar with Swift and Kelce told TMZ: They “remain a couple,” the sources said. The idea that there was trouble between them was “just not the case here.”

TMZ pointed out that while Swift is currently taking a break from her Eras tour, she will be performing again on October 18 in Miami and may have already started rehearsals.

The outlet's report came shortly after a source also debunked the breakup chatter Daily Mail. This source claimed: “People need to calm down and stop this breakup nonsense, just like they need to stop the endless speculation about marriage and engagement.” One day it's this rumor, the next it's that, and they don't even come up with either close.”

In early August, Kelce's rep closed reports that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end would be proposing soon. The spokesperson denied that there were “any official engagement plans.”

Swift and Kelce have been together for just over a year. The singer last attended a game at Arrowhead Stadium on September 15th. Kelce's next game will also take place there against the New Orleans Saints on Monday, October 7th.

It's worth noting that Swift will need extra security to go to Kelce's games — and that could impact which games she wants to attend. Kansas City Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt spoke to SiriusXM in February about what helps keep them safe.

“Obviously it’s a safety issue everywhere she goes,” Hunt said. “We've helped her security team deal with it when she comes to Kansas City for games, and I know the visiting teams we've played this year that she's appeared on have had to do the same.” She has a really talented security team. They work with our security team and we make sure we get them in and out of the stadium safely.”

A source later told Page six Today, security is actually a factor. “If she goes to a location that isn't Arrowhead (stadium where the Chiefs play their home games), there are safety concerns,” the insider said. “She has worked with Arrowhead so many times that they feel comfortable and at ease. When you go to different stadiums, you have to send a team in advance.”
