Iowa native and “American Pickers” co-star Frank Fritz died on Monday.

According to USA TODAY, Fritz was featured on the antique hunting show for over a decade and also owned an antique store in Savanna, Illinois called Frank Fritz Finds.

“We are sad to announce that our friend and beloved member of the History Channel and the American Pickers family, Frank Fritz, has passed away,” the History Channel and Cineflix Production said in a statement. “We will always remember 'the bearded charmer' and his never-ending search for vintage motorcycles and bicycles. Our thoughts are with Frank's loved ones during this difficult time. We will miss him very much.”

How old was Frank Fritz?

According to Iowa court records, Fritz, who was born Oct. 11, 1963, was 60 when he died. He was about a year older than Wolfe, who will turn 60 in November, according to court records.

Some online sources, including IMDB, gave his birth year as 1965.

What did Frank Fritz from “American Pickers” die of?

Fritz died on Monday, September 30th. His death came after two years of poor health that began when Fritz suffered a stroke that further aggravated his severe Chron's disease, friends told the Register. According to the Des Moines Register, he was placed under temporary guardianship after his severe stroke.

A cause of death was not announced.

How did Mike Wolfe react to the death of American Pickers co-star Frank Fritz?

Co-star Mike Wolfe announced Fritz's death in an Instagram post on Tuesday, saying he had known Fritz for half his life.

“What you saw on TV was always what I saw: a dreamer who was as sensitive as he was funny,” Wolfe said in the post. “Just as much behind the camera as in front of it, Frank had the opportunity to reach the hearts of so many people just by being himself.”

The show aired in 2010 and the two drove around the country on small town main streets in search of rare antiques.

“We have taken countless trips and covered so many miles together, and I feel blessed to have been by his side as he made one final journey home,” Fritz said. “I love you buddy and will miss you so much, I know you are in a better place.”

The co-stars reunited in June 2023 after Fritz's stroke.

Where did Frank Fritz come from?

Fritz is from Davenport, Iowa, about 24 minutes south of the first American Pickers store, Antique Archeology.

The Ancient Archeology Original is located at 115 1/2 Davenport St. in LeClaire, Iowa. American Pickers also has another store location in Nashville, Tennessee, and a car dealership in Columbia, Tennessee, according to its website.
