Texas A&M (3-1, 1-0 SEC) defeated the Bowling Green Falcons (1-2) on Saturday night, but left the packed Kyle Field with a disappointing 26-20 victory that could have turned out differently if kicker Randy Bond hadn't scored four field goals.

It was a win that felt like a loss to fans, the media and even Aggies head coach Mike Elko, who knows that resting on one's laurels usually leads to results similar to what we saw Saturday night.

Scourton, who finished the game with six tackles, one tackle for a loss and a QB hurry, felt the defensive line played well throughout the game but, as we all noticed, pointed out that this unit did not live up to preseason expectations, recording just two sacks on the night.

“I thought the D-line played pretty well. We should be a dominant force on this defense… There's a lot of holes and stuff that we can close to put less pressure on the back end.”

One bright spot on defense, however, was holding Bowling Green to 89 yards of ground clearance. This was the second straight game this season in which A&M's defense held teams under the 100-yard mark.
