BALTIMORE – There may be a few showers overnight, but otherwise Sunday is expected to be cloudy but mostly dry across the forecast area.

Sustained easterly winds threaten coastal flooding in Annapolis. The coastal flood watch is now a warning, with flooding of 12 to 24 inches in low-lying areas in Anne Arundel County. A coastal flood watch is in effect for most of the Chesapeake Bay in Baltimore County and the Eastern Shore, with flooding of up to 12 inches in low-lying areas. These warnings are in effect through Monday morning.

Autumn arrives tomorrow morning at 8:44 a.m., and temperatures seem to take the hint, reaching just over 21 degrees.

A high pressure system will build over the region on Monday, then drift out to sea on Tuesday. A few showers are possible in Western Maryland later Tuesday. Temperatures will remain cool. As the high pressure system drifts out to sea on Tuesday, a low pressure system will lose its grip over the area, increasing the chance of showers and a possible thunderstorm across the region through Tuesday afternoon. Temperatures will remain below average, with highs around 21 degrees.

A stronger cold front could move in late Wednesday, bringing a higher chance of showers or thunderstorms through Thursday, although the timing and intensity are uncertain at this point. It looks like we will have dry weather again by the end of the week.
