Freeze warning for Tuesday morning with clear skies – LocalNews8.com

Thanks to a cold front, we're starting off cooler this week. We expect temperatures to be in the mid to lower 30s early Tuesday. Another front will pass the region late Wednesday.

The National Weather Service in Pocatello has issued a freeze warning for the Snake River Plain:

  • WHAT… Temperatures as low as 32°C cause frost to form.
  • WHERE…Arco/Mud Lake Desert, Lower Snake River Plain and Upper
    Snake River Plain.
  • WHEN… From 3am to 9am MDT Tuesday.
  • EFFECTS… Temperatures near freezing could damage sensitive outdoor plants. Sensitive outdoor plants can be killed if not covered.

PRECAUTIONS/PREPAREDNESS: Take steps now to protect sensitive plants from the cold.

Tuesday will be sunny with high temperatures reaching the lower 70s. In the morning there will be a light and variable wind blowing from the southwest at a speed of 5 to 10 miles per hour. Overnight lows for Tuesday night will fall to around 40°

On Wednesday, high temperatures will reach around 75°. Mostly sunny, wind increasing in the afternoon. Southerly winds around 10 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph.

Highs will reach the 60s again on Thursday.
