49ers vs. Seahawks Thursday Night Football score, live updates: San Francisco and Seattle look to bounce back

The Seattle Seahawks are atop the NFC West at 3-2 and enter this week's Thursday Night Football matchup against the San Francisco 49ers at 2-3. Seattle will not only look to defend its home game, but also maintain its division lead over the faltering defending NFC champions. The 49ers blew a 13-point lead at home against the Arizona Cardinals last week and lost a double-digit lead in two of their three losses.

Seattle is coming off a 29-20 loss to the Giants in which a potentially game-winning field goal attempt was blocked and returned for a touchdown in the final minute.

The game could feature some passing fireworks, with Seattle's Geno Smith leading the NFL in passing yards and San Francisco's Brock Purdy ranking fourth. Smith also leads the NFL in pass attempts and ranks fourth in completion percentage.

As for Seattle's injuries, both defensive tackle Jonathan Hankins and wide receiver DK Metcalf are dealing with hand injuries but were fully involved in practice this week. For San Francisco, safety Talano Hufanga missed practice with a wrist injury, as did kicker Jake Moody with an ankle injury. The 49ers have signed veteran kicker Matthew Wright as a backup.
