19-year-old arrested in connection with deadly Harbor East shooting in September

Police have arrested a 19-year-old in connection with a fatal shooting in Harbor East in September, officials said. The murder occurred during an attempted robbery.

Quontay Spinks, 19, of Washington, Maryland, was arrested Nov. 1 in connection with the shooting death of 36-year-old Antonio Peoples, officials say.

According to police, on September 14, at approximately 11:53 p.m., officers went to the 700 block of Aliceanna Street for reports of a shooting.

According to police, 36-year-old Antonio Peoples was found shot multiple times at that location.

Paramedics took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police said camera footage captured the murder and was being used in the investigation.

In the video, you can see Peoples and his girlfriend standing in front of 745 Aliceanna St. as a vehicle parks next to them. According to police, the suspects exited the vehicle and pointed firearms at Peoples as they approached him.

The suspects tried to rob people who resisted. They then shot Peoples before fleeing the scene in a dark-colored vehicle, police said.

The suspects' CCTV footage before and after the incident was analyzed by investigators. Additional ballistic and forensic evidence was used to identify Spinks.

Investigators obtained relevant digital and cell phone data from Spinks that confirmed he was in the area at the time of the murder.

According to police, Quontay Spinks was arrested by detectives from the Warrant Apprehension Taskforce in Washington, D.C. on November 1 and taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility where he was charged with first-degree murder.
